Hi all,
I have been looking at the past democracy questions and have felt that there is a possibility in the summer exams that you may get a direct democracy question. From experience, I feel students have little understanding of other forms of direct democracy beyond referendums.
Imagine if you got the following question: Evaluate the view that apart from referendums, the greater use of direct democracy will improve the UK's representative democracy. You would not be able to talk about referendums.
Last month I held a session on direct democracy, as part of my regular essay planning webinars, which students said had clarified a lot for them. I have today placed this video on youtube.
I strongly believe if you can only use referendums as a form of direct democracy then you should take notes on this video.
